Our Guest Bath Remodel

We recently designed and remodeled our 1990s guest bathroom which is about 99% complete. We still have new windows to be installed, baseboards to be painted, and plants, towels, and bath accessories to be added to consider it completely done. However, I couldn’t contain my excitement to show you all the “almost final” design! We are extremely happy with how it turned out. There are a few things we learned along the way that will be helpful to know as we embark on our master bath remodel (e.g.  1) placing the water and temperature valve on the opposite side of the shower head so you don’t get wet with cold water when turning on the shower; and 2) I would prefer a slightly larger width for the niche to fit a few more shower necessities, but glad we made it tall to fit my extra large bottles!

I’m  sharing all the product links and information below.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I will be happy to follow up!

Flooring: Bedrosians Tile & Stone; Magnifica Encore 24″ x 48″ – 8mm honed porcelain tile in Calacatta Oro -we  love this tile as it has the look of marble.  We opted for the larger tiles for less grout lines and carried these all the way through the shower which has an infinity drain (no curb).

Shower Wall Tile: Bedrosians Tile & Stone; Cloe 2.5″ x 8″ ceramic tile in Creme – the Cloe collection is glazed ceramic wall tile with a smooth gloss finish and lots of color variation.  The Creme color collection includes warmer tones of white, beige, and greys.  We laid the tiles in a horizontal brick pattern from floor to ceiling in our large walk in shower and we love the neutral color tones and timeless look of the tile.

Plumbing Fixtures: Ferguson; Brizo Virage Collection in Polished Nickel – Includes the sink faucet, non-thermostatic valve trim, shower head, shower arm, hand held shower package, and towel bar.  While in the showroom, the polished nickel color really caught our eye.  It looks like polished chrome but is warmer in color with slight hints a gold.

-Bathroom Vanity: our bathroom vanity was custom built.  I really love the driftwood color which pairs nicely with the veining in the Calacatta Oro flooring tile.  I’m sharing similar store bought vanities in the links below

-Vanity Mirror: We purchased this 48′ x 30″matte black metal framed rectangular mirror from Amazon.  The matte black complements the color scheme and allowed me to bring in other black accessories such as door hardware, knobs, and drawer pulls which looks great with the driftwood color vanity.

-Vanity Light: Kichler Lighting; Ashland Bay Collection 4-light Polished Nickel Bath/Vanity Light

-Matte Black Accessories: Lowe’s Home Improvement; includes the soap/lotion dispenser/toothbrush holder. waste basket, drawer pulls and cabinet knobs, door hardware, double towel hook, and free standing toilet paper holder
